I have read about it on the one one of the internet forum. The war is war which brings ruins and sacrifices, but often such sacrifices are vain.
Nobody argues that the Georgians fought splendidly, but here we are going to talk about the reservists, who are still children with a big and sincere hearts … but they are really inexperienced.
The words you will read know belongs to the person who really adores his country, but he lacks training and what is the most important – example. Though it would be better if you read it yourself. I would like to apologise, because I am typing it without his permission, hope I do not get him angry.
“Nobody talks about conditions here … everyone knows that in the war nobody will supply you with the tasty different dishes and will not sleep in the soft bed and nobody claimed the aforesais… but my friends have been in Gori …”
There were hundreds of soldiers together during two days and they had no officer who could give them any direction…
They were in misunderstanding for two days…
When you call out the people you should appoint a commander for them, as fur as they are not the professionals ta make any decission themselves… the guyes were bombed, some of them died… some became panic-stricken and opened fire to SU 24 from their submachine guns and some of the reservists were wounded …
Because they had nobody to give them any command …
150 persons were brought to the Ossetian village, where we consolidated our positions…
Yesterday, when the Ossetians attacked us, the only officer of our regular became panic – stricken and orderd to step back, whereas we had very good possitions and we were 150 but the Ossetians maximum 50-60…
The reservists were eager to fight (we would have won in that situation for 100%) but panic-monger captan of the army made us to withdraw like frightened rabbits, I do not understand his behaviour …
Afterwards we went back to Gori by buses and they began bombing… we have left the buses and have hidden in the wood … Our capitain sat in pick-up and ordered to stay there, he left us for two hours
When he returned we asked him what to do, but he did not know himself…
Afterwards he called to the headquarters, I have heared how he has been inquiring what to do with us, they answered they had no time for us and he could take us wherever he wanted…
After we have been taken back to Gori and suddenly the capitan received an order to go back to the village in order to smooth it out from the Ossetians…
So we have left the hold positions and some stupid man ordered to go back to the village, whnen we knew for 100% that the foe would have been ambushed in the trench dig up by us and would have killed us like flyes…
Shortly we stayed in Gori for three hours and during thie period of time they could make no decision…
We were 30, the rest of us went to Tbilisi…
At last somebody called from the headquarter and ordered us to leave arms and ammunition and that we were free …
We have left everything and walke to Tbilisi from Gori…
Thanks God the bus stopped and took us to Tbilisi.
There happened some incidents took place between the reservists and the officers, to say what I do not concider necessary now …
Shortly I want to say that in inexpirienced man goes to war you should take an example from the expirienced one …
It is very big shock… The war is the different at all … from the beginning I thought that I had to think only to kill the enemy and not to be killed…
But nobody thought of himself there …
Everybody thought about their families … and the thought that all of us had families behind us made us strained, we did not know what to do …
It is great when you are going to die protecting your homecountry … but when you are aware any time that you may die in vain and your death will bring nothing to your country it is really very suck feeling …
Concerning the zone of action of a front I have not been there, but I know it for 100% that 200 reservists were in Tskhinvali … the guys could not bear it any more and left the place …
May be it is not a good behaviour but I cannot blame them” .
